Description:

Navigating the Complexities of the First Year of Clinical Trial Management

Marybeth Lynch, Senior Practice Executive in the Clinical Development Practice, will discuss the critical elements of CTMS implementation from the point of system selection to the end of the first year.

Abstract:

Pharmaceutical and biotech companies are increasingly looking to clinical trial management systems (CTMSs) to help streamline their clinical development operations. Although a CTMS can effectively manage and track data for multiple ongoing trials, the challenges associated with implementing a CTMS are significant given the complexity of the technology and the broad range of information being collected. The varying number of stakeholders across multiple functions who must agree on the approach and strategy further complicates CTMS implementation. To truly benefit from a CTMS, a strong implementation plan is key, particularly during the first year of system implementation, as decisions made during this year reverberate throughout the entirety of the system’s implementation.

During this session, clinical development leaders will focus on the critical elements of CTMS implementation from the point of system selection to the end of the first year. Delegates attending this session will

·         Understand critical priorities and key decisions for the first year of system implementation
·         Discuss best practices and common pitfalls during system implementation
·         Obtain a framework for the direction that CTMS should take throughout the first year
