Abstract:
In today’s challenging and cost-conscious environment, clinical development organizations must operate as efficiently as possible. This requires a powerful operational strategy. Whereas a clinical strategy outlines what compounds will be developed and what data must be captured, the operational strategy outlines how the organization actually plans to get things done. In this session, clinical development leaders will define the term “operational strategy,” explain why it has become so critical, and outline how clinical organizations can significantly enhance their efficiency through better operational strategies. Audience members will hear insights regarding how to
· Identify their organization’s core competencies and decide what capabilities should ideally remain in-house
· Develop more effective outsourcing strategies
· Ensure that their organizations have the optimum structures and staffing levels to meet the demands of their development portfolios
· Implement more efficient work practices, from protocol development, to study start-up, to data management
This session will help clinical leaders structure their thinking so that they can proactively enhance the efficiency and performance of their organizations.
