Abstract:

Develop an Effective and Integrated Market Access Strategy

Jay Jauregui, Senior Practice Executive, Campbell Alliance

In the U.S. market, private and government payers manage upwards of 80% of prescription drug expenditures. Additionally, in the face of increased support and momentum behind comparative effectiveness initiatives, the bar for securing reimbursement and access continues to get higher. As such, manufacturers cannot afford to overlook the strategic importance of payers when launching products. Appropriate focus and effort are required to adequately understand market dynamics and develop a clear and compelling market access strategy.

  • What role does the product value proposition play in this process?
  • How does a product’s pricing and contracting strategy affect market access?
  • Which external market dynamics should be considered in designing an effective access strategy? (e.g. Healthcare Reform, EU-5 considerations)
