Traditionally, pharmaceutical companies have chosen to pursue either a national commercial strategy or a regional strategy. The downside of a national strategy is that a one-size-fits-all approach is not appropriate given the vast differences from local market to local market. A regional strategy, meanwhile, is a step in the right direction, but too often companies go too far in giving autonomy to individual territories and end up with scores of different strategies that are not implementable. What is needed is for companies to adopt a local market strategy that can truly empower sales teams to be successful by making sure they have the right framework, tools, training, and resources that make sense for their markets. This presentation will focus on ensuring an effective implementation of a local market strategy.
